Description: Berkeley Lab employees are invited to an event about entrepreneurship at the Berkeley Skydeck, a startup incubator located in downtown Berkeley. There will be three speakers:
- Jesse Kindra (Berkeley Lab IPO) who will talk about entrepreneurship at Berkeley Lab
- Shanshan Li who will talk about about Cradle to Commerce (C2C) and the i-Corps program
- Jill Fuss who will talk about Activate, a non-profit that provides early-stage science entrepreneurs with funding, technical resources a and network of support through a two-year fellowship model

Speakers's biographies:
Jasbir (Jesse) S. Kindra is the Chief Technology Transfer Officer at Berkeley Lab. He is responsible for intellectual property strategy development and portfolio management to support the transition of Lab-developed technologies for the benefit of society and the U.S. economy.
Shanshan Li works with researchers at Berkeley Lab in the areas of energy efficiency, energy storage, and renewable energy. She manages the lab’s participation in Cleantech to Market (C2M), a Haas School of Business course in which teams of business, science and engineering students evaluate the commercial potential of clean energy technologies. Prior to joining Berkeley Lab, she worked as a marketing consultant for international businesses, including Coca Cola.
Jill Fuss, Ph.D. is the managing director of Activate Berkeley, a non-profit that provides early-stage science entrepreneurs with funding, technical resources, and a network of support through a two-year fellowship model. In Berkeley, Activate partners with the Cyclotron Road program at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Dr. Fuss earned a Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology from the University of California, Berkeley before becoming a research scientist at Berkeley Lab, where she conducted fundamental cancer research understanding the structural biology of DNA repair enzymes, and subsequently co-founded Cinder Biological, Inc. to commercialize extreme enzymes for industrial use.
